CONTEST! t-shirt design for Mendiko Jaia 2009
The designs are in! The winner will receive $50, two free t-shirts and, of course, BRAGGING RIGHTS! Voting by the membership will take place online between June 1, 2009 and June 15, 2009 and winners will be announced by the Board, June 22, 2009. The shirts will be available for sale to all members, friends and family on July 1, 2009.

The strength of Colorado Euskal Etxea! Basque language classes are now underway for 2008! Join us on Friday nights to learn useful phrases and words in Basque. Classes are free to members of Colorado Euskal Etxea.

Colorado Euskal Etxea held its third annual Gabon Jaia winter holiday party. The event was held at Crepes n Crepes in downtown Denver. Olentzero made his annual appearance bringing toys for the children. Thanks to Catherine Bedard for arranging this festive evening!

Mendiko Jaia - Annual Summer Potluck Picnic August 18, 2007
Our 4th annual summer picnic will be held in Arvada and begin at 5:00pm with a member meeting preceding the picnic at 4:30pm. This year's celebration will be a potluck so bring your favorite Basque dish to share and bring something you like to drink. Ikusi arte!

Basque Heritage Night 2006 August 12, 2006
Colorado Euskal Etxea joined the Colorado Rapids to welcome former Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid player Aitor Karanka to the Rapids 2006 team. The event began with a pregame "Basque village" in the parking lot of Invesco field (the stadium the Denver Broncos also play in). Thanks to Cruz Imaz of Buenos Aires grill for serving paella "Basque style" and also to the dance group from the Buffalo, Wyoming Basque club who sent over 30 of their dance group to perform. We also welcomed a group from New Mexico Euskal Etxea. During the game, the Basque section of about 160 people cheered Aitor whenever he touched the ball. During halftime, Aitor was presented with a txapela and honored at midfield. Afterwards, there was a question and answer session with Aitor.
